If synchronized swimming can be an Olympic sport, so should this. In fact, artistic cycling is a popular UCI-licensed sport in Germany and elsewhere in Europe. The Cascade Bicycle Club brought the reigning World Champion in single artistic women, Corrina Hein, ...

Seattle Public Library Downtown: Highest Viewpoint →

Charlie got his own library card today. We can both check out up to 50 items each time. Can you imagine?! He didn’t care about the books once he saw the book return conveyor belt, though. Now he just wants to go back so that he can return his books.

Some highlights from CSCW 2010 →

CSCW 2010 - the ACM Conference on Computer Supported Cooperative Work - is the first CSCW I've missed since 1998. I'm all set for the Emerald City ComiCon, which you will no doubt be reading about on this blog over the next few days as I write up my adventures.I have no super-modern tech, so I won't be tweeting or blogging from the show itself. I'll try to write something once I'm home Saturday and Sunday, but no promises. It all depends on how ...

Seattle entrepreneurs get their “Oscar” bling on →

Last Sunday, Seattle’s Fremont Studios elegantly set the stage for the second annual Biznik Oscar Viewing party. Tuxedos were pressed, gowns dusted off, and Seattle’s Bizniks draped themselves in sparkly bling for the occasion. Some Biznik paparazzi, Victoria and Ken Lapp, documented the event; Kelly Johnson of Scott’s Trophy in Ballard, brought an “Oscar” for us to pose with in our photos; and Biznik makeup artist, Heather Roddy was on hand offering the ladies a quick ...
